If you're looking for a counselor, things probably feel heavier than you'd like. Maybe it's anxiety that won't quiet down, a marriage that feels stuck, or a habit you can't seem to break. I can help. I'm Pat Ward, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Oxford, Mississippi. Over the past decade I've sat with more than 1,000 clients across 10,000+ sessions, working with individuals, couples, families, and leaders. Before becoming a counselor I spent years as a pastor and nonprofit leader, so I know what it's like to carry responsibility for other people while quietly struggling yourself. My primary strengths are anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and addiction. I also do a lot of marriage work: couples counseling, affair recovery, and premarital counseling, along with family counseling, college student counseling, and leadership coaching. Sessions with me are practical. I listen first, and I mean really listen, because you can't fix a problem you don't understand. Then we work together to make sense of your story and build a plan you can actually use between sessions. Clients tell me they leave with something to do, not just something to think about. My faith shapes how I see people, and I integrate a Christian worldview with research-backed tools. Clients of every background are welcome, and we always work from your values, not mine. I see clients in person in Oxford and Tupelo and offer secure telehealth across Mississippi as a Board Certified Telemental Health provider. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available. I've been married for nearly twenty years and have three kids, so the messiness of real family life isn't theory to me.
